Within this community weaving is an important tradition because it preserves its history. The art of weaving teaches proper techniques and it narrates, in its symbology, their own story which tells about their social life, their cosmovision and their connection with the land and nature. Their youth is motivated to learn the practice of weaving beads because their bright colors, accesible raw materials and its inclusion in school activities. This profession has increased in its practice remarkably and has involved both men and women. With the purchase of this product you are contributing to the development of the Kamentsa Inga indigenous community in San Francisco, Sibundoy, Colombia and the preservation of their history through the traditional weaving of beads.
